- Visit the Income Tax e-Filing Portal: Open your browser and go to the official Income Tax e-Filing website: https://www.incometax.gov.in
- Navigate to Link Aadhaar Section: Under the "Quick Links" section, click on "Link Aadhaar Status" to check if your PAN and Aadhaar are already linked.
- Enter Your Details: Enter your PAN number and Aadhaar number, then click "View Link Aadhaar Status". If not linked, proceed to the next step.
- Click on Link Aadhaar: If your PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, click on the "Link Aadhaar" button to begin the linking process.
- Fill in Your Information: On the Link Aadhaar page, enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and other required details.
- Validate and Pay Fee: Click "Validate". You'll need to pay a fee of ₹1000 as the free linking period has ended.
- Enter PAN and Mobile Number: Enter your PAN number and any valid mobile number. You'll receive an OTP on this number.
- Verify with OTP: Enter the OTP received on your mobile and click "Continue".
- Select Payment Category: Under Payment category, select "Income Tax" and choose the correct Assessment Year.
- Choose Payment Type: Under Payment type, select "Other Receipts (500)" and then "Fee for delay in linking PAN with Aadhaar".
- Complete Payment: Choose your preferred payment method (UPI, Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, RTGS/NEFT), select your bank, and complete the payment of ₹1000.
- Download Challan: After successful payment, download the challan and keep it safe for your records.
- Wait for Payment Verification: Payment verification may take 2-3 hours. After this period, return to the website to complete the linking process.
- Complete Aadhaar Linking: Go back to the "Link Aadhaar" page, enter your PAN, Aadhaar, and mobile number.
- Agree and Submit: Check the box "I Agree to Validate My Aadhaar Details" and click "Link Aadhaar".
- Enter Aadhaar OTP: You'll receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter this OTP to complete the process.
- Confirmation: Your PAN will be linked to Aadhaar within 48 hours. You can check the status on the portal.
